But because the University Park housing market had crashed, I could sell the townhome only if I took a big loss. So I kept it and instead bought a studio condo in that building. In 1976, I traded that studio condo in to the building’s developer for a one bedroom condo, and because the University Park housing market was still way down, I began renting it out. In 1984, I sold it at a big inflations-adjusted loss. That says worlds about real estate values in University Park.
