WEALTHY RETIREMENT
— Age Discrimination Is Alive and Well – Steve McDonald (DIERSEN: How old are you? I am 70. All my critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have always promoted age discrimination a) to get rid of those who are older than they are and/or b) to curry favor with those who promote age discrimination.)
https://wealthyretirement.com/slap-in-the-face/equal-employment-opportunity-commission-age-discrimination/

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Here’s one for all of us who have been forced out of a job or were forced into early retirement because of our ages. In 1974, my uncle Stephen was forced to retire at the age of 64. He was a 40-year veteran of a big-time hotel business, and his work was his life. But his employer had a rule that you had to leave at age 64. No discussion! Unfair? Yeah, just a little. It gets worse… Age discrimination has been illegal in this country since 1967. But you’d be hard-pressed to convince any boomers of that fact, especially if they, a friend or a relative lose their job after the age of 50. The fact is, age discrimination is alive and well in the U.S., and it is the only kind of discrimination that is accepted and ignored by everyone. Race and sex discrimination have been on the front burner since I was kid. Despite the fact that boomers are retiring in droves (10,000 per day) and many have to work to make it in retirement, holding or finding a job after the age of 50 is next to impossible. Off the top of my head, I can think of two friends who lost their jobs after age 50. One is an attorney. It took him almost two years to find another job. The other, a 35-year veteran of the mutual fund business, couldn’t find another position and had to retire early. Every thinking person knows it was their age that was the barrier. Now, because the Gen Xers are right behind us, the numbers are just getting too big to ignore any longer. But the cavalry may finally be on the horizon. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) just closed an age discrimination case against a restaurant chain, which cost the chain $12 million. The acting chair of the EEOC, Victoria Lipnic, stated in a recent article that age is now an enforcement priority for her commission. This shift in enforcement is too late for the three out of five of us who have been the victims of age discrimination or have seen it in action, but it’s something of a moral victory. Years of research have shown that age is not a predictor of performance. In fact, it has been repeatedly demonstrated that the workplace wisdom older workers bring with them actually makes them more effective and efficient. Fifty years of ignoring this travesty appears to be coming to an end. This has to stop. Not just because it’s wrong, but also because too many boomers have to work well into their golden years and there aren’t enough Walmarts to employ all of us as greeters.)

FOX NEWS CHICAGO
— 3rd Kavanaugh accuser has history of legal disputes – AP (DIERSEN: I should write a book about the lawsuits that I have filed and a class action lawsuit that I was an active member of the class in. I would focus on the defendants, the facts that I presented, the charges that I made, the remedies that I sought, the attorneys who represented me, the judges that were assigned, the outcomes of the lawsuits, etc. But most importantly, I would focus on the retaliatory acts that the defendants, their operatives, their dupes, and those who what to curry favor with the defendants have taken against me.)
http://www.fox32chicago.com/news/3rd-kavanaugh-accuser-has-history-of-legal-disputes
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Julie Swetnick, one of the women who has publicly accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct, has an extensive history of involvement in legal disputes, including a lawsuit in which an ex-employer accused her of falsifying her college and work history on her job application. Legal documents from Maryland, Oregon and Florida provide a partial picture of a woman who stepped into the media glare amid the battle over Kavanaugh’s nomination for the nation’s highest court. Court records reviewed by The Associated Press show Swetnick has been involved in at least six legal cases over the past 25 years. Along with the lawsuit filed by a former employer in November 2000, the cases include a personal injury suit she filed in 1994 against the Washington, D.C., regional transit authority. Her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, told the AP that court cases involving her have no bearing on the credibility of her claims about Kavanaugh. Avenatti said the suit from her ex-employer – it was dismissed a month after it was filed – was “completely bogus, which is why it was dismissed almost immediately.” He told AP that he “fully vetted” Swetnick before helping her take her claims against Kavanaugh public. . .Some details of the legal disputes she’s been involved in aren’t known, because documents in the cases are incomplete or no longer available. Records in the lawsuit filed in late 2000 by her ex-employer, Oregon-based software company Webtrends, don’t indicate why it was dismissed. Avenatti said there was a settlement in the case but no money changed hands. In its civil complaint in a state court in Oregon, the company said Swetnick, a software engineer, was an employee for a few weeks before its human resources department received a report that she had engaged in “unwelcome sexual innuendo and inappropriate conduct” toward two male co-workers at a business lunch. The lawsuit said that Swetnick in turn accused Webtrends of subjecting her to “physically and emotionally threatening and hostile conditions” and that she claimed that she’d been sexually harassed by four co-workers. The co-workers denied the allegations, the suit said. Company officials later determined, the suit said, that Swetnick had provided false information on her employment application. The suit alleged that she had misrepresented the length of time she worked at a previous employer and falsely claimed that she’d earned an undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from Johns Hopkins University. Her lawyer, Avenatti, said that “whether she has a college degree or not does not matter as to whether she is a sexual assault victim.” Helene Moglen, Swetnick’s aunt, told AP this week that her niece went off to college but quickly moved back home. In an interview with The Washington Post, Swetnick’s father was quoted as saying that “she bootstrapped herself and became a computer expert. She’s a sharp woman.” None of the executives named in the lawsuit still works at Webtrends. Calls and emails to the company’s Portland headquarters seeking comment received no response. The lawyer who represented the company in the lawsuit also did not return messages seeking comment on Thursday and Friday. Swetnick was on the other side of a civil case in 1994, as a plaintiff, when she filed a personal injury lawsuit in Maryland against the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. She claimed she lost more than $420,000 in earnings after she hurt her nose in a fall on a train in 1992.)
— Lawyer, 99, will retire ‘when they carry me out of here’ – AP (DIERSEN: All my critics/opponents, all their operatives, and all their dupes have always promoted age discrimination a) to get rid of those who were older than they are and/or b) to curry favor with those who promote age discrimination. Democrats run the federal government. Those Democrats promote age discrimination. They get rid of federal employees who are Republican, White, male, and/or non-veteran who they did not to GS-13 (currently $96,403) by age 25, GS-14 (currently $113,920) by age 30, GS-15 (currently $134,000) by age 35, and Senior Executive Service (currently $164,200) by age 40. When the aforesaid employees are eligible to retire, the Democrats pull out all the stops to get those employees to retire. I first became eligible to retire in 1993 when I was 45 years old.)

— Who you gonna call? Inspectors General. – JOHN F. SOPKO
https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/408953-who-you-gonna-call-inspectors-general
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Traditionally, Congress has turned to committee staff and legislative support agencies for expertise. But much has changed on Capitol Hill over the last 40 years. The number of committee staff in the House has declined from 2,000 to 1,100, and from 1,400 to 950 in the Senate since 1979. Congressional support agencies suffered similar cuts. Government Accountability Office staff dropped from 5,300 to 3,000; Congressional Research Service staff was reduced by 28 percent; the Office of Technology Assessment was completely abolished. As Congress’ internal expertise has declined, the number of think tanks has more than doubled since 1980. Many do great work but, as New York Times and National Public Radio investigations have found, think tanks may be beholden to foreign, corporate or wealthy private donors that may affect their independence and objectivity. Likewise, as the number of congressional staff has decreased, the number of lobbyists has, unsurprisingly, increased. There are now roughly 12,000 congressional staffers and 11,500 registered lobbyists. Some experts estimate there are as many as 100,000 unregistered lobbyists. Lobbyists are not inherently evil but are, by definition, partial to the causes they are paid to promote.)

They were fully aware of the arguments that Thompson and Jim Edgar made in Rutan that government employers should be allowed to engage in political affiliation discrimination (SEE: http://www.nytimes.com/1996/03/13/us/seeking-return-to-ways-of-patronage-in-politics.html).)
https://www.dailyherald.com/news/20180922/cadre-of-gop-insiders-getting-big-salaries-at-illinois-tollway
(FROM THE ARTICLE: All six positions are Rutan-exempt, meaning it’s allowable to hire someone with political affiliations. The term stems from a lawsuit filed against former Republican Gov. James Thompson over political hiring. The tollway has a history of hiring and awarding contracts to political insiders under Democratic and Republican governors. Former Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich, imprisoned on corruption charges, was charged with strong-arming a construction company for donations and taking contributions from a contractor. State Rep. Jeanne Ives, a conservative Republican from Wheaton, has criticized the hiring of Gorman and Durkin. Of the other staffers, Ives said it’s reasonable for leadership to want “people who are aligned with you politically and you see eye-to-eye with. But it has to be disappointing to folks who’ve worked at the tollway a long time and have more institutional knowledge not to be given the opportunity.”)

— Illinois congressmen split on push to remove SALT deduction cap – Cole Lauterbach (DIERSEN: Roskam should increase the $10,000 SALT cap to $20,000 for married filing jointly.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Rep. Danny Davis, a Chicago Democrat, chastised Republicans for placing a $10,000 limit on how much in state and local taxes can be deducted on a federal filing. He and other Democrats tried to add language rolling back the cap to the follow-up legislation making last winter’s tax cuts permanent. Davis told the House Ways and Means Committee that the cap unfairly burdens Illinoisans and hurts business passthroughs. “The Republican-sought bill would increase taxes on almost 2 million Illinoisans by hundreds of millions of dollars,” he said. Committee Chairman Kevin Brady shot back at Democrats in his final remarks before calling the bill for a vote, saying the tax break subsidizes high-tax states. “This is a great amendment,” Brady said. “If you are wealthy or you are a governor or state legislator who loves to brutally tax families and businesses … these very states are seeing windfalls because the economy is booming and changes in the tax code are providing them new revenue. What we’ve seen is that these high tax states are pocketing that revenue.” The amendment failed, with Republicans Peter Roskam and Darin Lahood voting against it. According to the IRS, the average SALT deduction in Illinois was more than $12,000. The progressive Institute on Taxation and Public Policy said in a report that removing the cap on SALT deductions would simply be another tax cut for the rich, saying “repealing the SALT cap would cost $87 billion in tax year 2019 alone and 63 percent of the benefits would go to the richest 1 percent.” Others have criticized the state and local tax deduction as a subsidy and incentive to high-earners in high-tax states who arguably have the greatest ability to pay for it.)

https://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/09/20/project-veritas-gao-socialist-activism-destroy-capitalists/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: In the latest installment of Project Veritas’ undercover video series into the “Deep State,” a U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) employee purportedly admits to breaking agency rules and being a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). UPDATE: According to Project Veritas, GAO has issued a statement saying that this employee has been “removed from any ongoing GAO work.” The statement reads: “[W]e cannot comment on his personnel status due to privacy laws. But he has been removed from any ongoing GAO work and cut off from access to GAO equipment. We have a rigorous quality control process with many reviewers that prevents one person from biasing our final reports. But we will also examine his work product as part of our investigation.” Project Veritas identifies its latest subject as Natarajan Subramanian, a GAO administrator and “self-proclaimed Communist,” appearing to tell an undercover journalist that federal employees may calculatingly subvert President Donald Trump’s agenda by simply accomplishing tasks at a slower pace. “If you’re in [an] executive branch agency you can slow ball things to a degree, that it’s like ineffective, and maybe you get in trouble, or maybe you get fired or resign or whatever, but you slowed [Trump’s agenda] down for a certain period of time,” Subramanian says. In another exchange, Subramanian purportedly says he is not only a card-carrying member of the Metro DC DSA but also works secretly to expand the group’s online presence — while on the job as a federal employee. “Everything that I’m doing with DSA is stuff that I’m not supposed to be doing for work… it’s explicitly prohibited. If they find out I could get in trouble, basically,” Subramanian says during the tape. “No one knows I spent six hours yesterday doing social media for DSA.” According to Subramanian, other GAO staffers are aware he is a Metro DC DSA member, yet his superiors remain in the dark. “Management does not know. You have to be strategic about things like this,” he says. Subramanian purportedly admits he would be terminated if GAO officials were aware of his activism during work hours — yet breaks the rules anyways. “That’s when I might get fired. If there’s like a camera above my cubicle looking down so they can see and zoom in and see what’s on my phone,” he explains. “I would get fired if they knew that I was [engaging in DSA activity at work,] and I do. I do it on my phone.” In a separate exchange, the GAO staffer says one of his DSA cohorts assists the Pentagon with “war planning stuff” involving Syria and possesses Top Secret clearance. Subramanian says little oversight exists across the federal government. “There’s no one looking over my shoulder,” he says. “So like, a lot of times what I’ll do, and this is kind of what I’m doing right now, is like I’ll drink the night before, I tele-work and then I’m like, if I’m 15 minutes late to log on, no one checks.” In a statement released Thursday, Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe said of the investigative group’s latest sting: “For years the public has been at most only nebulously aware of the permanent administrative state. Only recently have we begun calling it the ‘deep state.’ And with this series, we’ve begun exposing who these individuals undermining our government really are.”)

WORLD NET DAILY
— COMMUNIST (GAO EMPLOYEE) BOASTS OF HINDERING PRESIDENT’S AGENDA ‘You can slow-ball things to a degree’ – BOB UNRUH (DIERSEN: One could say that GAO got rid of me so that it could hire employees like this.)
https://www.wnd.com/2018/09/communist-federal-worker-boasts-of-hindering-presidents-agenda/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: A federal employee who describes himself as a communist boasts he can slow down President Trump’s agenda simply by deliberately delaying his assignments. “If you’re in [an] executive branch agency you can slow-ball things to a degree, that it’s like ineffective, and maybe you get in trouble, or maybe you get fired or resign or whatever, but you slowed [Trump’s agenda] down for a certain period of time,” he said. The comments by Natarajan Subramanian, a Government Accountability Office worker and “self-described communist,” were captured in an undercover video by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas. It’s the third video in the series. In the second, two “Deep State” radicals confessed, “There’s a lot of talk about how we can like, resist from inside.” The first video in the series, released Tuesday, showed career civil servant Stuart Karaffa of the State Department boasting of working for the Democratic Socialists of America while he’s being paid by taxpayers. He explained his task is: “Resist everything. … Every level.” Since Trump’s election, there have been many references to the “Deep State,” the unelected, career bureaucrats using their tax-paid jobs to undermine the president’s agenda, including his efforts to “drain the swamp” and make government work better. Subramanian boasts of being a GAO auditor while working for the Metro DC Democratic Socialists of America. “Metro DC DSA is a socialist group that works to advance progressive issues in the Metropolitan DC area. Subramanian’s political activism may directly violate federal statutes as well as the ‘Yellow Book’ rules which apply specifically to government auditors,” Project Veritas explained. Subramanian said executive branch workers can deliberately stall the president’s agenda through their work or by doing less work. And he chooses to prioritize his politics over his job responsibilities. “Everything that I’m doing with DSA is stuff that I’m not supposed to be doing for work … it’s explicitly prohibited. If they find out I could get in trouble, basically,” he told the undercover journalists. In June, when his organization harassed Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen in public, he admitted “doing social media” for Metro DC DSA for most of the day. “No one knows I spent six hours yesterday doing social media for DSA,” he said. Subramanian said he conceals his actions from his supervisors, explaining one has to be “strategic.” BBut he believes he is safe. “There’s no one looking over my shoulder. So like, a lot of times what I’ll do, and this is kind of what I’m doing right now. I’ll drink the night before, I tele-work and then I’m like, if I’m 15 minutes late to log on, no one checks.” O’Keefe says the video series puts a face on the Deep State: “For years the public has been at most only nebulously aware of the permanent administrative state. Only recently have we begun calling it the ‘deep state.’ And with this series, we’ve begun exposing who these individuals undermining our government really are.” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has confirmed that the government is aware of the video series.)

FED WEEK
— Court Rejects ‘Double Punishment’ Argument (DIERSEN: My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes side with my Democrat superiors in the federal government. My Democrat GAO superiors punished me when they forced me to retire in 1997 when I was 49 years old, gave me unfair performance expectations and appraisals, always ranked me in the bottom half of my coworkers for pay-for-performance purposes, did not promote me beyond GS-13, got rid of my mentor in 1987, kept me off audits of IRS for all but 3 of the almost 18 years that I worked for GAO, and forced me to take a $19,203 pay cut in today’s dollars to transfer from IRS to GAO in 1980. My Democrat IRS superiors punished me when they did not promote me beyond GS-12, disallowed my education deductions in 1978, got rid of my mentor in 1975, and disallowed my partial day per diem claims in 1974. My Democrat Post Office superiors punished me when they forced me resign in 1969 and disallowed my sick leave requests in 1969 and 1968.)
