CHICAGO TRIBUNE
— How is Gov. Rauner in trouble? Let me count the days – Eric Zorn (DIERSEN: What if Rauner promised to take no action that would be against the Illinois Republican Party (IRP) platform? What if Rauner promised that he would defend and advance the IRP platform?)
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/zorn/ct-perspec-zorn-rauner-ives-disunity-0406-20180405-story.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Democratic Governors Association sent another mass email Thursday morning, updating the length of the era of post-primary strife among Illinois Republicans. “Day 16,” began the subject header. That email marked 16 days in which there had been no unity breakfast or other meeting of the minds between the winner of the gubernatorial primary, incumbent Bruce Rauner, and his barely vanquished firebrand conservative opponent, state Rep. Jeanne Ives of Wheaton. Sixteen days in which the two have reportedly not spoken. Sixteen days in which Rauner has not given in to Ives’ demand that he take out an ad admitting that he lied about her during the campaign. Sixteen days in which Ives has declined to retract or soften her blistering attacks on Rauner from the campaign, attacks that included: “Nobody can trust Bruce Rauner, he’s lied to everybody about everything.” He “has failed the integrity test in many ways.” “He basically got nothing done.” And “What the hell is wrong with this governor?” The daily count-up emails from the Democrats are likely to end soon — they’re already starting to feel a little spammy — but DGA spokesman Sal Salustro directed me to a running tally of the days at Medium.com that will continue. “We’re going to keep a focus on it,” he said. “There is no path to victory for Rauner without Ives and her supporters.” Rauner seemed to acknowledge as much during his televised victory speech March 20 after the primary election. “For those of you around Illinois who wanted to send me a message, let me be clear,” he said. “I have heard you.” In fact, however, “I have heard you” was anything but clear under the circumstances. Literally, yes, obviously, Rauner had heard the outraged howls of social conservatives who’d voted for Ives in large part to express their displeasure at his signing a bill expanding abortion rights and his several other deviations from right-wing orthodoxy. “I’ve come to expect politicians to shade the truth, but what’s clear today is that Rauner’s promises were just flat-out lies,” said House GOP floor leader Peter Breen of Lombard after the governor signed the abortion bill. “In the face of overwhelming evidence of Rauner’s inability to competently administer the Illinois government, inability to stand up to Mike Madigan effectively and inability to keep his word and his commitments, I can no longer support him.” Those howls translated into votes — enough that the wealthy incumbent was able to squeak by a scrappy state legislator by fewer than 3 percentage points. But hearing is not heeding, as anyone who has ever deftly deployed the expression “I have heard you” in an argument knows well. What did Rauner mean? That he planned to adopt some of the views of those who had opposed him? Or that these views had registered with him, but he planned to ignore them? Both meanings are politically perilous. If Rauner lurches to the right to placate social conservatives, he risks alienating the moderate voters who provided his narrow margin of victory in 2014, when, as a first-time candidate, he proudly ran with “no social agenda.” And if he fails to apologize or correct course, a significant number of dispirited GOP base voters may well stay home on Election Day in November. So I put the question to Rauner spokesman Justin Giorgio: “What is the message that he heard? What is the message that he believes 48 percent of primary voters are trying to give him? And how will he act upon that message?” Giorgio’s reply: “The governor understands that we all have to work harder to find common ground on the issues we disagree on. He understands the need to engage all Illinoisans to continue making progress on the issues that unite us: cutting taxes, creating jobs and rooting out corruption.” Translation: Pound sand, wing nuts. When it comes down to a choice between me and Democratic nominee J.B. Pritzker, you’ll discover your inner Peter Breen. Rep. Breen, who had been all in for Ives, announced after the primary that “Gov. Rauner stated in the media that he’s heard the message, and I believe he has. (He) is our party’s nominee, and I support him 100 percent.” I wanted to know what message Breen believes Rauner heard, but he did not respond to requests for comment. Sure, primaries are bruising, the rhetoric is heated and pragmatism generally ends up superseding principle when it comes time to vote. Even Ives has said she’ll vote for Rauner (though she’s said her husband will not). Unity breakfasts, like the gathering the Democratic gubernatorial rivals had the Saturday morning after the March 20 primary, are polite agreements to ignore the preceding ugliness and pretend the ideological differences are minor. But that rhetorical salve is important. Parties with open, infected wounds have a hard time getting healthy by the time voters go to the polls. Every day that goes by with Rauner refusing to apologize and Ives refusing to offer a single nice word about him is a day for the Democrats to celebrate. Seventeen days on Friday. And counting.)

Whoever is appointed will serve until Nov. 30. In the fall, voters will determine who will get the seat for the next four years. They will face Elmhurst Democrats Ashley J. Selmon and Zahra Suratwala. The first thing we must do is not let the Illinois House and Senate override the Governor’s veto of HB1657. Please contact you legislators immediately. This is a gun ban movement, pure and simple. (FROM THE ARTICLE: In election season, some Illinois politicians are looking for ways to promise more revenue without inciting the rage of voters, who just saw the largest permanent income tax hike in state history last summer. Enter the progressive income tax. Instead of addressing the things that make state and local governments cost so much, Illinois can solve all its problems by “making the rich pay their fair share,” supporters of a progressive tax argue. This idea has become a key pillar of J.B. Pritzker’s gubernatorial campaign after swirling around the Statehouse air for the past decade or so.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Every four years, Republican Party conventions of precinct committeemen are held in every Illinois county for the purpose of electing state central committee members in each of the state’s congressional districts. The filing deadline was March 26th. Dave Diersen posted a list of contested races. I’ve added incumbent (i) designations… . . . That’s a lot of challenges. I asked Dan Proft if he was behind any of these candidates in an attempt to take over the party. Chris Cleveland was a big Jeanne Ives supporter, for example, as was David Smith, Patrick Harlan and others on that list. Proft’s texted response… Think you’ve got it reversed. It reads to me as if Rauner and his big government apparatchiks are working to continue their purge of conservatives from the party per their backing candidates against McGlasson, Floreth and Winchester. Message to Ives and her supporters: leave the party. I checked in with the ILGOP, former statewide candidate Bob Grogan and the Ives campaign, but haven’t yet heard back. . .KOL: What is going on in the 6th? All three are Rauner allies, so I thought)

http://taylorvilledailynews.com/local-news/355509
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Governor Bruce Rauner has a key issue to deal with as the march toward the general election battle with Democrat J.B. Pritzker moves forward. Rauner needs to mend fences with his primary opponent, State Representative Jeannie Ives, or at least her supporters. Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti could be of help in opening a dialogue. The Lt. Governor says she’s no stranger to the West Point grad. (AUDIO CLIP) Sanguinetti has also shared that she opposed legislation Governor Rauner signed that paved the way for state funded abortions. That was one of the key issues that many believe led to Ives’ surge in popularity.)

https://chicago.suntimes.com/chicago-politics/catholic-charities-to-lead-community-outreach-for-chicagos-citykey-id/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Last month, now-failed Republican gubernatorial challenger Jeanne Ives joined forces with the City Council’s lone Republican to oppose using the ID to register to vote. Ives argued then that accepting the municipal ID for voter registration “is literally suborning voter fraud. And the political class in the sanctuary city of Chicago is brazen about this fact.” Emanuel was dismissive: “She should just take her Trump rhetoric out of the city. It doesn’t reflect our values.” Days later, a rival bidder made the politically-explosive claim that printing technology used to create the new ID compromises personal information the city promised to keep confidential to shield illegal immigrants from the threat of deportation. — Who will pay for paid family leave? – George Will (DIERSEN: Of course, the answer is those who do not have children. I should write book about those who have demonized, denigrated, and condemned me the most because my wife and I gave up trying to have children, because we did not adopt, and because we did not become foster parents. http://www.sj-r.com/opinion/20180401/george-will-who-will-pay-for-paid-family-leave
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The recent bipartisan budget agreement, which indicates that 10-digit deficits are acceptable to both parties even when the economy is robust, indicates government’s future. So does government’s pregnancy, which was announced nine months ago by this tweet from Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.: “In America, no family should be forced to put off having children due to economic insecurity.” The phrase “due to economic insecurity” is a way to avoid saying “until they can afford them.” Evidently it is now retrograde to expect family planning to involve families making plans that fit their resources. Which brings us to the approaching birth of a new entitlement: paid family leave after the birth or adoption of a child. This arrival will coincide with gargantuan deficits produced primarily by existing entitlements.)

My critics/opponents, their operatives, and their dupes have always viciously demonized, viciously denigrated, and viciously condemned the work experience that I gained working for the Post Office 1966-1969, for IRS 1971-1980, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 levels, currently $81,071-$91,880, and for GAO 1980-1997, the last 11 years of which at the GS-13 Step 1-10 levels, currently $96,403-$125,325. https://www.roskamforcongress.com/issues/oversight-and-accountability/

(FROM THE ARTICLE: As Chairman of the Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee, Peter has been leading the fight to reform the IRS and root out the mismanagement and abuse the troubled agency has inflicted upon hardworking taxpayers. When the IRS got caught abusing its power and unfairly targeting conservatives, Peter led the charge to investigate and hold the guilty parties accountable. When the agency tried to use gift taxes to target and diminish charitable donations to conservative groups, Peter passed a law to stop it – scoring a major legislative victory. He will continue to hold the IRS accountable and make sure these abuses never happen again. Peter has been a leading voice fighting to change the culture at the IRS. He wrote and passed into law the Taxpayer Bill of Rights, which protects taxpayers and their private information from IRS abuse. He forced the IRS to re-train every one of its employees and hang a copy in every one of its facilities. Through his oversight and accountability work, Peter exposed major abuses of power by the IRS. The agency used strong-arm tactics to seize the assets of law-abiding citizens and small businesses. He is now forcing the IRS to repay every dollar they took and is changing the rules so that it can’t happen again.)

http://www.dailyherald.com/discuss/20180402/madigan-builds-power-from-the-ground-up
(FROM THE ARTICLE: But inside the precincts of Madigan’s district on Election Day, I had a clear look at how his political machine keeps churning along, and how it probably will for as long as he wants. The power of the most powerful politician in Illinois starts with his election operation and service delivery in his home ward. When I stepped into the basement polling place, I was greeted by an election judge who noted my surprise. “It’s not uncommon in our community,” she said. As I later learned, she was partly right. At one time, dozens of Chicago houses served as voting sites — as many as 150 in 1989, according to a Chicago Tribune article that year. Most were picked as polling places years or even decades earlier, when election officials favored locations in the middle of each precinct. That was also a time when the Democratic Machine had a tighter grip on the entire electoral process. The house on 68th Street has been used as a polling place since at least 2007, according to the available Chicago Board of Election records, but probably far longer. The owners didn’t respond to inquiries about it. By the primary this year, it was the only single-family house still used as a polling place in Chicago, records show.)

WTKR
— Trump designates April ‘Second Chance Month’ for people with criminal records – CNN (DIERSEN: What is in your record that discourages employers from hiring you, from retaining you, and/or from promoting you? From what I see, the more of the following that you are, the more that employers DO NOT WANT YOU: Trump supporter, Protestant, conservative, patriotic, Republican, American, White, male, older, rich, gun owner, German American, draft avoider, and if your ancestors have been in America for a long time.)
http://wtkr.com/2018/03/30/trump-designates-april-second-chance-month-for-people-with-criminal-records/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The proclamation states that during the month of April, the United States will emphasize the need “to provide opportunities for people with criminal records to earn an honest second chance.” A bipartisan group of senators, including Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois and Republican Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio, introduced a resolution last year to make April 2017 “Second Chance Month” to honor efforts to help those with criminal records become productive members of society. The Senate passed the resolution in April of last year. A similar resolution was introduced by Democratic Rep. Tony Cardenas of California last week. “Affording those who have been held accountable for their crimes an opportunity to become contributing members of society is a critical element of criminal justice that can reduce our crime rates and prison populations, decrease burdens to the American taxpayer, and make America safer,” Trump said in his proclamation. The President goes on to urge the implementation of “evidence-based programs” in prison systems at the federal, state and local level that focus on job training, mentoring and treatment for drug and mental health issues. Trump made promises to crack down on crime a prominent part of his 2016 campaign for the White House. In a speech at the Republican National Convention after winning the Republican presidential nomination, Trump vowed that under his leadership the US would “be a country of law and order.”)

Low-income grads struggle with careers, status Many low-income students who are the first generation in their families to go to college feel pressure to succeed and grapple with one of the most difficult transitions in a modern, developed society – moving from one socioeconomic class to another. – Laura Pappano (DIERSEN: What socioeconomic class were you born into? https://www.wsj.com/articles/white-privilege-for-white-coats-1522451475
(FROM THE EDITORIAL: Americans think they have a progressive political correctness problem, but the politicization of everything runs across the Western democracies. Witness the new code of conduct issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, which oversees more than 389,000 health-care providers. The new code, published this month, requires nurses and midwives to uphold “culturally safe and respectful practices.” The board defines this as a “de-colonising model of practice” focused on “systemic and structural issues” and “challeng[ing] racism at personal and institutional levels.” Most controversially, the glossary states that “the acknowledgment of white privilege” is part of culturally safe practice. The implication is that nurses must confess their sins of being born white and having learned how to care for patients as a kind of political expiation before they can treat someone.)

What opinion do those who dominate your municipality, your township/ward, your county, and Illinois have of the work experience that you have? (FROM THE ARTICLE: An obscure White House office responsible for recruiting and vetting thousands of political appointees has suffered from inexperience and a shortage of staff, hobbling the Trump administration’s efforts to place qualified people in key posts across government, documents and interviews show. At the same time, two office leaders have spotty records themselves: a college dropout with arrests for drunken driving and bad checks and a lance corporal in the Marine Corps reserves with arrests for assault, disorderly conduct, fleeing an officer and underage drinking. The Presidential Personnel Office (PPO) is little known outside political circles. But it has far-reaching influence as a gateway for the appointed officials who carry out the president’s policies and run federal agencies.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Sean Casten, Democratic nominee for Congress challenging incumbent Peter Roskam in the 6th District, refuses to define Roskam’s claims this week involving a property tax deduction as “a success.” Roskam’s office received word from the U.S. Treasury Department that suggested Illinois taxpayer who filed before Jan. 1 can deduct their property taxes. Casten called a foul, asking, “Does Roskam think we’re going to forget that he was largely responsible for hitting us with this unfair tax hike in the first place?” He writes: “Hard-working homeowners throughout our district were counting on that property tax deduction, and Roskam sold them out in favor of the wealthy special interests that fund his campaign. Instead of writing self-serving letters to the Treasury Department, Roskam should try doing the job he was elected to do — working on behalf of the people who live right here in the 6th District.”)
— ROSKAM HITS BACK
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Also on Thursday, Roskam released a statement that blasted Casten for not saying whether he agrees or not with a tax plan proposed by Congressional Democrats if they win the majority in the midterm elections. Democrats are proposing a repeal of major pieces of President Trump’s tax reform legislation. Their plan would raise taxes on corporations and high-income households in order to pay for a $1 trillion infrastructure package. “The thousands of families who have received meaningful tax relief this year deserve to know whether Sean Casten fully supports his party’s efforts to raise tax rates and fully reinstate the Alternative Minimum Tax,” said Roskam for Congress spokesman Veronica Vera. “Now that his party has committed to increasing taxes on families and small businesses, Sean Casten has a responsibility to Sixth District voters to be honest about his intentions to raise their taxes.”)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: The backlash began earlier in the week, when Ingraham made fun of Hogg, who has been a vocal activist after the Feb. 14 shooting that claimed 17 lives, for being rejected from four universities in the University of California school system. She tweeted a story by the Daily Wire addressing the rejections, adding on Twitter, “David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it. (Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA…totally predictable given acceptance rates.)” Hogg, who has a 4.2 GPA, was accepted by Florida Atlantic University, Cal Poly and Cal State San Marcos. IMMIGRATION REFORM
— California Sheriff Rejects “Sanctuary” Law, Makes Information on Illegals Public – JOE GOMEZ (DIERSEN: Needless-to-say, DuPage County Sheriff John Zaruba should do this immediately. Federal law trumps state law.)
https://immigrationreform.com/2018/03/27/california-sheriff-rejects-sanctuary-law-makes-information-illegals-public/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Orange County Sheriff’s Department has announced that it will begin publishing a list of criminal aliens who are inmates in the county jail, as part of its existing “Who’s in Jail,” online database. The information made public will also include when criminal aliens are released from jail, a move that comes in direct retaliation to the state’s “sanctuary” laws which prohibit cooperation between police and federal immigration officials. “This is in response to SB-54 limiting our ability to communicate with federal authorities and our concern that criminals are being released to the street when there’s another avenue to safeguard the community by handing them over (to ICE for potential deportation),” Orange County Undersheriff Don Barnes said. California’s “sanctuary law” has recently encountered resistance to this dangerous policy from multiple communities in California. Most notably, the City Council in Los Alamitos voted last week on an ordinance to exempt the city from state law over concerns that it is unconstitutional. The Yorba Linda City Council agreed to file an amicus brief to a lawsuit filed by the Department of Justice against California. The Orange County Board of Supervisors are also expected to consider a range of possible actions against the state law as well. Open borders groups like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) have been actively working to prevent cities in California from opposing the states “sanctuary” laws.)

When Republicans got elected, my Democrat superiors worked even harder to get rid of me.)
https://www.politico.com/story/2018/03/30/trump-washington-civil-servants-492347
(FROM THE ARTICLE: One Health and Human Services employee swore off online dating after potential suitors repeatedly got upset that he worked for the Trump administration. An Education Department fellow eagerly returned to teaching after listening to Betsy DeVos bash public schools. And one Environmental Protection Agency official said staffers are distraught at having to personally dismantle regulations they spent years crafting. This is Donald Trump’s government 14 months into his presidency. Interviews with nearly three dozen current and recently departed workers across the ideological spectrum and across the federal bureaucracy — from the State Department to the Interior Department — show that Trump’s presidency has fundamentally altered the lives of government workers in ways big and small. Trump’s frequent attacks on the “deep state” have engendered deep distrust between career and political employees, pushing many long-time civil servants toward the exits and raising the possibility of a government-wide brain drain. And while some workers, such as Border Patrol agents, are feeling newly empowered under Trump, morale at other agencies is so low that some employees said they were suffering from increased anxiety and depression that has complicated their personal relationships and even led to heavier drinking. Several career employees said they were keeping their heads down and ignoring possible avenues for promotions because they have little interest in being subjected to the political infighting that has taken hold in many agencies. “It’s the worst administration and I’ve dealt with all of them from Ronald Reagan all the way forward,” said Jeffrey David Cox, the national president of the American Federation of Government Employees, the country’s largest federal employee union. “The worst with morale of employees. The worst with constantly wanting to take away rights and benefits. And the worst in trying to starve the agencies of resources.”)

— Can Democrats Flip Crucial Governors’ Seats? In the 36 gubernatorial races this fall, all but 10 of the states are currently led by Republicans. – LOUIS JACOBSON
http://www.governing.com/topics/politics/gov-2018-governors-races-republicans-election.html
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner (R) Even before the March 20 primary, Rauner was vulnerable, thanks in part to an ongoing battle with the Democratic-controlled legislature, which kept the state without a full budget for more than two years, as well as from a conservative backlash over his decision to sign a bill providing state funding for abortions for low-income women. On primary day, he barely edged out socially conservative challenger Jeanne Ives. Meanwhile, J.B. Pritzker, a multibillionaire and the brother of the former Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker, easily defeated Chris Kennedy, a businessman and the son of Robert F. Kennedy, and progressive state Sen. Daniel Biss. The contest between Rauner and Pritzker is expected to get ugly, as Rauner has already been spending money on TV ads attacking Pritzker, linking him to impeached and jailed former Gov. Rod Blagojevich. But in a Democratic state in a Democratic year and with an unpopular Republican governor who has lost faith on the right, this is Pritzker’s race to lose.)

GOPUSA ILLINOIS
— The Illinois Republican Party (IRP) State Central Committee (SCC) governs the IRP. Every 4 years, at IRP county party conventions, one IRP SCC member for each of Illinois’ 18 congressional districts is elected for 4 year terms. All votes taken by the IRP SCC are by weighted vote. Weighted vote is determined by the number of Republican primary ballots that were cast statewide divided by the number of Republican primary ballots that were cast in each of the 18 congressional districts. Who are the applicants for each of the 18 IRP SCC positions? What are their backgrounds and qualifications? Why are they running? Exactly what do they promise to do if elected? Applications were due by 5:00 PM, Monday, March 26, 2018. SEE: https://illinois.gop/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/2018-SCC-Application.pdf IRP SCC members will be elected at April 18, 2018 IRP county party conventions. What weighted vote will each of those IRP SCC members have? Every 4 years, each IRP SCC member appoints a member of the IRP State Convention Platform and Resolutions Committee. I have already asked Bob Grogan, an announced candidate for the IRP SCC 6th Congressional District position, to appoint me to the 2020 IRP State Convention Platform and Resolutions Committee, like Ron Smith appointed me in 2008. – Dave Diersen

— Indiana GOP asking Hoosier Republicans to submit party platform suggestions – Dan Carden (DIERSEN: Outstandingly, in 2008, Illinois Republican Party (IRP) State Central Committee member Ron Smith appointed me to IRP’s State Convention Platform and Resolutions Committee. Very few changes to IRP’s 2008 platform were made at IRP’s 2012 and 2016 State Conventions.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: The Indiana Republican Party is seeking suggestions about what it should stand for and what it should oppose, as GOP leaders work to craft a platform for delegates to consider adopting in June at the party’s biennial state convention. The Indiana GOP Platform Committee next month is holding three public hearings for Hoosier Republicans to recommend positions, policies and programs for the 2018 party platform. The hearing happening closest to Northwest Indiana is set for 6 p.m., Eastern time, April 12 at the St. Joseph County Republican Headquarters, 4133 S. Main St., South Bend. Additional hearings are scheduled for the same time April 4 at Greenwood City Hall and April 16 at Jeffersonville Township Public Library. Individuals can reserve a spot to testify during a hearing, or submit written platform suggestions without appearing by emailing platform@indiana.gop. “We’re the party of proven leadership and the party that’s delivering real solutions to Indiana’s biggest challenges,” said Kyle Hupfer, Indiana GOP chairman. “Our party platform and these hearings unite us as Republicans, bringing us all together under a set of people-focused principles that are making life better for all Hoosiers.” In addition to adopting a platform, Republican delegates to this year’s state convention in Evansville will nominate the party’s general election candidates for secretary of state, state auditor and state treasurer.)

(FROM THE ARTICLE: Ingraham apologized Thursday on Twitter, saying, “On reflection, in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland.” Ingraham tweeted that she thought she was the first to feature Hogg on her show after the shooting and added, “he’s welcome to come on my show anytime for a productive discussion.” Hogg tweeted later Thursday that an apology to save advertisers wasn’t enough and that he’d only accept Ingraham’s apology if she denounced the way Fox News has treated his friends. “It’s time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children,” Hogg wrote.)

Step increases recognize the work experience that you gain. What opinion does Rauner and his supporters have of the work experience that you have? Based on their words and their actions, Rauner and his supporters have an extremely low opinion of the work experience that I have.)

— Different pay-equity measures competing in Illinois Senate and House – AP (DIERSEN: The Illinois Equal Pay Act requires men and women to be paid the same for similar work. If I had not been denied my 7th Amendment rights in Diersen v. GAO, I would have provided a jury with many examples in which GAO paid its female employees not only more for the same work, but more for lesser work, including one example in which GAO paid one of my subordinates who was a female, a minority, and a veteran more than it paid me. She had less job-related work experience, less job-related education, no professional certifications, and no professional licenses. I had almost 18 years experience working for GAO, the last 11 years of which at the GS-13 Step 1-10 levels, currently $96,403-$125,325; almost 9 years experience working for IRS, the last 5 1/2 years of which at the GS-12 Step 1-5 levels, currently $81,071-$91,880; three job-related master’s degrees; six job-related professional certifications, and a job-related professional license.)

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/03/29/enough-nearly-400-sheriffs-demand-congress-reduce-immigration-criminalize-sanctuary-cities/
(FROM THE ARTICLE: Sheriff Hodgson is requesting Congress pass Rep. Bob Goodlatte’s (R-VA) “Securing America’s Future Act,” which would: Authorize full construction of a border wall Mandate E-Verify to keep illegal aliens from taking American jobs Reduce overall legal immigration to the U.S. to raise the wages of American workers For pro-American immigration reformers, for months, the Goodlatte plan has been considered the best option for the Republicans in Congress to help Trump fulfill his immigration promises. Though the plan would allow a small group of illegal aliens to stay in the U.S., the amnesty would be offset with immediate reductions in legal immigration, whereas the country currently admits more than one million legal immigrants every year.)
